[CHI][Fly House Records]

When it comes to putting his own twist on classic house production, Chicago’s DJ Bam Bam is king. As owner of the esteemed Fly House Records, Bam has remained an underground dance music mainstay since signing on with Strictly Hype Recordings in the late ‘90s. Since then, he has toured the globe on several mix compilations. He hit #1 on Beatport with "Watch The Club Go".

[BC][Really Good Recordings]

Since the age of 14 Mat has been mixing, scratching and making mixes - beats, spanning many genres, tempos and styles, but always having one thing in common - heavy beats and bass lines with lots of cuts and turntable tricks thrown in. Mat has toured across the globe and performed in 14 countries from Miami to Moscow & many of Canada's largest festivals of up to 15,000 people. He has pioneered club nights in Whistler & Vancouver and held down a bi-weekly club night in Las Vegas at Eye Candy (Mandalay Bay).

Information about ArtDeckCo

Dr. Ken Buesseler, the world's foremost marine radiochemist and expert on the effects of the Fukushima disaster in the oceans, will lecture in Portland on June 2nd. His lecture will explain basic information on what radiation is and what it means to be able to measure radiation, how the crisis at the Fukushima nuclear plant is affecting the Pacific ocean and what we can do to help. Dr. Buesseler believes strongly in the abilities of the people to be able to collect, understand and analyze data and has used that conviction to power his newest project, , a website that empowers people in their understanding of radiation and science and relies on crowdsourced information.

Dr. Buesseler is a Senior Scientist at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution who specializes in the study of natural and man-made radionuclides in the ocean. His work includes studies of fallout from atmospheric nuclear weapons testing, assessments of Chernobyl impacts on the Black Sea, and examination of radionuclide contaminants in the Pacific resulting from the Fukushima nuclear power plants. Dr. Buesseler has served as Chair of the Marine Chemistry and Geochemistry Department at WHOI, as Executive Scientist of the US Joint Global Ocean Fluxes Planning and Data Management Office and two years as an Associate Program Director at the US National Science Foundation, Chemical Oceanography Program. In 2009 he was elected Fellow of the American Geophysical Union and in 2011 he was noted as the top cited ocean scientist by the Times Higher Education for the decade 2000-2010. He is currently Director of the new Center for Marine and Environmental Radioactivity at WHOI. More info at his Cafe Thorium web site

Music will be DJed by Maria.

The night will also feature ocean-themed artwork by some of Portland's finest artists and a question and answer period lead by Dr. Buesseler.

Saturday June 14th, 2014 MR. BILL & FREDDY TODD
Mr. Bill (Australia) (

The Mr. Bill project is based on evocation. Mr. Bill likes to write music that excites the ear and the bain. This requires him to explore a vast range of strange production methods and musical theories to keep exciting the senses. The best way to describe the music associated with this project is a mix of unlatched, glitchy breakbeats, heavy, swung-out bass lines and flawless edits with a large dash of palatable melodic content.

Freddy Todd (

Words will inevitably fail to properly describe Freddy Todd. Genre-busting could be an understatement. You can't pin him down with lexicon like lazer-bass and glitch-funk; these phrases fall way short of capturing the expressiveness, fearlessness, and space-traveling qualities of his music. Hearing his music is akin to being abducted by an extra-terrestrial cruise liner where everyone is tripping on space acid. And if you are lucky enough to witness him produce, you'll see that he fittingly looks just like the captain of said space cruiser, both hands intently gripping his electronics like the instrument panel on the flight deck. Based out of Detroit, Freddy Todd is truly a master of his craft not only in the studio but on stages across the globe. Without any pre-recorded sets, Freddy has the skills and the audacity to perform on the fly mixes of 100% original material tailored to his specific audience, mood, and venue each night, be it a theater in northern California, a club in the back alleys of Detroit, or an outdoor festival in the bush off the eastern coast of Australia (occasionally on special nights with his live drummer, His earth shattering, meticulously programmed beats and rhythms, his lazer crunk, funky psychedelic bass and sound design, and his brain tingling, intelligently soul-soaked synths, melodies, and field-recorded samples are sure to shake your consciousness as they blast through airwaves out of top notch sound systems across the universe.

Duffrey (

Duffrey is an electronic music producer with a insatiable hunger for brain tickling soundscapes and funky bass. Woody Klann, a musician from a young age, has been squeezing sounds from his environment since he can remember. Duffrey experiments with many genres including Midtempo, Wonky Bass, Dub, Breaks, and Drum and Bass and the result is a full spectrum psychedelic sonic exploration. Duffrey’s goal is to convert brainwaves into tangible energy that takes control of your body and leaves you tingling.

Assembled Ascension | PDX

clætron is the new moniker for the DJ, Clayton Colwell. His 'sound' is the fruit of a decade-plus years experience as a musician/dj/partygoer, infused with a sensibly broad taste. What follows is a dynamic, genre bending flow and a penchant for boogie-downs that simmer and boil onstage alongside artists such as The Hood Internet, VibeSquaD, Heyoka, Mochipet, Stylust Beats, Bass Science, Guttstar, Nalepa, Ghislan Poirier, The Blue Scholars, Filastine, Sporeganic, Dirty Disco Kidz and perpetuate a deep list of dance/club nights. As clætron emerges from the ether, a conduit has been activated, enabling participation and sensory awakening for all within earshot.
